The Citi Aspen Interns Program is a 12-week internship program that exposes graduate students to the microenterprise development field in the U.S., and assists microenterprise development practitioners in collecting high-quality client outcomes data. Microenterprise programs receive awards to select an intern to work under their supervision. The Aspen Institute brings all of the interns together in Washington D.C. for training and orientation, and again at the end of the project to share findings and experiences.

Twenty-five domestic microenterprise organizations received funding through the Citi Aspen Interns Program to hire interns for summer 2007. As part of the program, which was managed by MicroTest, Citi underwrote the cost for each organization listed below to create a paid internship focused on the collection of high-quality client outcomes data. The Researchers Program introduced the field to young talent that hopefully will stimulate interest in microenterprise development as a promising career.
