The Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloan Program has contracted the FIELD Program to advise it on strengthening key performance metrics that the SBA uses to track the performance of the Microloan Program. FIELD will also provide training and guidance to SBA Microloan Intermediaries to ensure a clear understanding of performance metrics.

The SBA's Microloan Program provides loans to intermediary lenders, who then make small, short-term loans to small businesses. In response to the increased demand and deployment of loans and technical assistance, the SBA requested assistance in defining and standardizing key metrics used by intermediary lenders who receive SBA microloans.
